eDankort

- Payments via online banking in Denmark

eDankort is a method of payment launched by PBS and the Danish banks. With eDankort the customer pays directly from his/her online bank. Such payments are basically account-to-account transfers that cross all banks.

eDankort has a range of advantages:

  • The shop has much better security for the transaction, since the customer ID is established via their bank login. Because of this, PBS has an increased coverage guarantee of DKK 3000,- as opposed to DKK 1000,- for ordinary Dankort transactions.
  • Customers under 18 years can also purchase. The only requirement is an attachment to a Danish online banking system.•
  • No attachment to any specific bank is needed to be able to receive payments with eDankort.

Technical tasks

In order to use eDankort you have to use the payment window. If you already use the payment window ensure that the order ID is unique, in case the customer closes the payment window before completion.

As soon as the merchant agreement with acquirer has been created on eDankort, please inform support and they will activate eDankort in the payment window.

If you do not already use the payment window, please read about the technical setup here.
