Mobile Payment
DIBS Mobile is a secure payment solution that involves card payment via a mobile phone. With mobile payment you can offer your customers expanded payment options and establish a mobile shop that makes it possible for your customers to choose and buy products directly from their mobile units.
Mobile payment is similar to Internet payment, where the customer types their card information and sends it via a secure channel with SSL encryption. The payment can be initiated by the customer or by sending a link to the customer that enables payment. This solution is based on established methods of payment and technologies that make it safe and easy for the customer to use their mobile phone for payment.
Via the link, the customer receives a simple form, where information such as card type, card number, the cardholders name etc. have to be typed in using the phones’ keypad. Customers are already familiar with this from Internet-based payment methods, and typing is executed in the same manner as a text message, which basically all mobile phone users know how to do.
As mentioned, the transaction is SSL encrypted and authorised by the relevant authorities and organisations like PBS and PCI. This ensures that payments are secure for both the customer and the seller, and all steps will subsequently be possible to document via their electronic tracks.
The system can for example be used in connection with call centre services. By sending the payment link directly to the customers mobile phone, the customer service assistant spends less time on each sale, and the customer can subsequently complete the purchase by typing in and sending their credit card information.
Mobile payment is also practical for purchases made while the customer uses transportation, and therefore may find it difficult to divulge personal information over the phone. Mobile payment means that the customer can complete payment later, in calm and non-intrusive surroundings.
