DIBS applies to Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority to comply with the EU Payment Services Directive.

DIBS, the leading provider of payment solutions for e-commerce in the Nordics, has applied to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority to become a so called payment institute in order to comply with the EU Payment Services Directive. The ambition is to make it easier for retailers to accept payments via internet and smart phones.

DIBS role in the value chain is to safely and easily manage the transaction flow in digital commerce. The ambition is to simplify for e-shops to start up their business or expand existing offerings to new markets.

By collecting the e-stores' cash flows from various financial players, DIBS can make it easier for stores to launch e-commerce. In addition, it improves the overview of the transaction flows.

DIBS has therefore decided to offer services as a financial counterpart to online merchants for different types of payments. This means that DIBS, in some cases, will act as a so-called payment institute. This is subject to approval by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority in accordance to the Payment Services Act (2010:751).

“DIBS is a driving force in e-commerce. We will now simplify the process for companies to start e-commerce and expand into new markets. This makes it even easier to grow digital sales via internet and mobile phones,” says Eric Wallin CEO of DIBS.

Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority ?s handling time is up to 90 days. After approval, the service will be launched in Sweden and then rolled out in the Nordic countries and possibly to other markets as well.

DIBS assessment is that the business opportunities of the new services justify the limited financial risk involved in being counterparty. It is still too early to comment on the effect of DIBS sales and earnings.

DIBS makes it easy for travelers in Denmark to buy tickets on the go

DSB, the Danish state-owned railway company, launches a user-friendly app for travel information and ticket sales based on DIBS solution for mobile payments. The app is called MobilBilletter Hovedstaden and is developed in cooperation with DSB S-trains, DSB, Movia, Metro and Rail Authority/ DSB Öresund.

DSB's new app MobilBilletter Hovedstaden makes it quick and simple to buy tickets through a smartphone. The app is designed for maximum usability. The traveler adds his or hers credit card information once and can thereafter easily buy tickets.

DIBS provides the mobile payment window that has been customized for DSB. DIBS also manages users' credit card information with the same security as for DIBS other payment options.

“MobilBilletter Hovedstaden is fast and easy to use. We have worked with DIBS to ensure that the payment is as customer friendly as possible, since our studies show that users drop out if it is too difficult to make the payment. Compared to the old SMS tickets MobilBilletter Hovedstaden is a significant improvement, simply because it is a more modern solution that requires less of the user,” says Niklas Marschall, sales manager at DSB S-train.

“As always, security was a key priority when we developed the payment window for DSB. Consumers should feel safe to store their credit card information. Simultaneously, we worked heavily to make sure that the entire payment process is as easy as possible. Three clicks and you get a ticket. It has never been easier,” says Lars Juul Dalsted, Sales Manager at DIBS Denmark.

MobilBilletter Hovedstaden automatically finds the user's location to make it easy to select tickets. The app is proposing the shortest route and travelers can save their favorite destinations and home station. The interface contains a number of control elements, which reduces the potential for abuse. DSB runs one of the largest portals for tickets for bus, train and Metro in the Copenhagen area, selling about 30 000 tickets on their best days.

DIBS is selling its customer base of terminals for physical stores

DIBS, the leading provider of payment solutions for e-commerce, is selling its customer base of ChipPay terminals for card transactions in traditional stores. Open Solution Nordic AB takes over 1850 mainly Danish customer contracts.

- Terminals for card payments in physical stores are outside DIBS’ strategic focus on e-commerce. In Open Solution we have found a buyer who focuses on developing the solution further for its users, says Eric Wallin CEO of DIBS.

In 2009, DIBS established the payment solution for credit card transactions in physical stores (Point of Sales) with support for PIN and Chip. The solution consists of a terminal from a third party and in-house developed software. DIBS sold the terminals and invoiced an ongoing service fee. New sales declined during the latter part of 2010 in connection with a technology shift.

Open Solution AB assumes the rights and obligations of the ChipPay-contracts and IP rights and source code to the solution. Open Solution and DIBS have also initiated cooperation on payment services.

The approximately 1850 ChipPay customers are estimated to annually generate service revenues of approximately 4 million with a limited impact on net income. The purchase price will not be published.

Open Solution Nordic AB was established in 1990 to develop software and sell hardware to hotels, restaurants, night clubs and casinos, a café and retail outlets. The company has about 20 employees and is run by Christian Johansson. For more information see www.opensolution.se.

BingoLotto.se connects to DIBS mobile payment solution

- Bingo is available online since many years. Thanks to DIBS’ payment solution, we are now launching the first Bingo on smartphones in Sweden. This makes our Bingo available via mobile phones and tablet computers wherever our customers are. We believe this is a simple and fun way to take advantage of our offering, says Carl Ståhle, chief operating officer at BingoLotto.se.

- We chose DIBS as their solution for mobile payments worked well with our existing payment solution online. With only a few steps the customers make safe deposits to their account with VISA or MasterCard via DIBS. Mobiles, iPads and mobile payments fit well with games, and we expect that more than 10% of sales will be in mobile devices by 2012, said Carl Ståhle.

BingoLotto is one of Sweden's most popular games. Five years ago they launched an Internet version and now they are taking the leap into smartphones.

- With DIBS´ payment solution it is easy to drive sales in multiple channels, and we are very pleased to get the trust to handle payments for BingoLotto in mobiles, says Eric Wallin, CEO of DIBS. In our study DIBS E-Commerce Survey 2011, we see that 70% of e-shops have not yet launched a mobile site to their customers. With its mobile solution BingoLotto shows that it is possible to use the phone also for efficient card payments.

DIBS E-Commerce Survey 2011 shows that European e-commerce continues to grow and that mobile commerce is reaching a breakthrough

DIBS, the leading provider of payment solutions for
e-commerce, presents today the DIBS E-Commerce Survey 2011. Based on interviews
with 9,000 consumers in nine countries, the study concludes that European e-commerce
grew 14% in 2011 calculated in euro. In addition, the survey provides several
observations that indicate that e-commerce via mobiles (m-commerce) is reaching
a breakthrough.

The report is 48
pages of data rich analysis on e-commerce in nine markets. It is available to
media via DIBS. Here's an excerpt:

- European
e-commerce defies economic turmoil and continues to grow rapidly, says Eric
Wallin, CEO of DIBS. The migration to online commerce is set to continue as 74%
of the consumers plan to maintain or increase their online consumption during the
upcoming year.

Based on consumers´ reports
of their own e-commerce, the e-market is estimated to amount to 213 billion
euros in 2011, whereof Sweden 8.4, Denmark 5.3, Norway 6.1, Finland 5.1, UK
61.1, Germany 61.6, France 36.6, Poland 10.2, Spain 18.5 billion euros. The
average consumer completed 7.4 purchases during the first six months 2011,
compared to 6.6 same period 2010. This is still only slightly more than one
online purchase per month and online commerce is still only a fraction of total
household consumption.

E-commerce on mobile phones

E-commerce through
mobile phones (m-commerce) is evolving rapidly. The highest consumer adaptation
is found in Sweden, Denmark and Poland and media is the best selling category via
mobile phones.

- Today's survey indicates
that mobile commerce is reaching its breakthrough. The amount of services and
products offered via mobile phones will multiply as 21% of the e-retailers say
they will “soon” launch e-commerce via mobile phones, says Eric Wallin CEO of
DIBS. The new purchasing habits are quickly evolving as already 17% of the
consumers between 15 and 34 years old are m-consumers.

Consumers believe that
new payment methods, purpose-built mobile shops and personalized offers can
attract them to m-commerce. Fewer consumers believe in location-based offers.

How consumers pay for e-commerce

On an accumulated
level, cards are Europe’s preferred payment method (42%), but online bank
transfers (9%), invoices (17%) and micropayment services (18%) are also
popular. There are wide discrepancies between the countries.

To avoid losing
sales opportunities it is critical for merchants to cater to very different
payment preferences across Europe. The British, Spanish, Norwegian and French
consumers have a preference for using cards, but nowhere is card as popular as
in Denmark. The Germans prefer invoice and the Poles and the Finns prefer
transfer via Internet bank. The Swedes’ preferences are balanced between cards,
invoices and transfers via Internet banks.

What consumers buy online

Travel-related consumption
accounts for about 25% of the market. The second largest category is household
consumables (13%) and thereafter electronics (12%). For the next 12 months,
consumers expect to increase their own online consumption especially within
fashion, travel and electronics.

Why do consumers buy online

DIBS launches Payment Solution in Poland

- DIBS is now launching a complete offering in Poland. Our goal is to help develop the Polish e-commerce market with secure, innovative and functional payments. We will make it easy for Nordic e-retailers to launch on the interesting Polish market, and as a second objective also aspire to attract local Polish customers, said Eric Wallin, CEO of DIBS.

The Polish e-commerce market is significant and shows good potential. Polish consumers are still less frequent e-shoppers and spend less online than the average Nordic consumers, but the Polish market is catching up fast. Polish consumers prefer to pay via Internet banks (preferred by 42% of consumers), cash on delivery (33%) and cards (9%).

DIBS is the Nordic market leader and has for years followed its customers as they expand outside the Nordic countries. As a number of Nordic customers expanded to Poland during 2011, DIBS has in several steps built up a local payment infrastructure in Poland. DIBS is managing its sales and customer service for the Polish market from offices in Stockholm and Denmark.

For more information please contact
Eric Wallin, CEO of DIBS, +46703 29 77 74 or eric.wallin@dibs.se

DIBS and PrestaShop initiate partnership for growth in Europe

“The agreement with PrestaShop is the first major step in DIBS strategy to expand outside the Nordic region. We provide PrestaShop with new business opportunities related to financial transactions and they provide us with an excellent distribution channel, particularly to the French market. Based on our strong position in the Nordic region, we are dedicated to continue to tap into growth opportunities across Europe together with our customers and partners," says Eric Wallin, CEO of DIBS.

PrestaShop is one of the world’s leading e-commerce softwares used by over 50,000 e-shops worldwide, including prominent names such as Centre Pompidou, Peugeot Sport and Mercedes-Benz. The agreement with DIBS enables PrestaShop to deepen the commercial relations to its e-commerce customers with regards to payment infrastructure.

” PrestaShop is a driving force in e-commerce worldwide. Last year our community grew by over 250% and we are dedicated to continue our rapid growth as we are introducing our new version V 1.4, with over 65 new features. Together with DIBS we will enrich our e-commerce offering and will financially leverage our position at the centre of huge amounts of e-commerce transactions,” said Christophe Crémer, General Manager at PrestaShop.

The foundation for DIBS European expansion is its strong market position in the Nordic region, its technological leadership and its international payment infrastructure. After recent consolidation in the industry, only very few independent payment service providers remain in Europe and DIBS believes that there is a significant opportunity for DIBS. DIBS strategic direction is to further expand its presence into European markets.

DIBS and PrestaShop’s cooperation will generate new customers and revenues, though it is too early to estimate the future number of users and transaction volumes.

DIBS European E-commerce Survey, published early January 2011, is a thorough analysis of the potential across Europe. Based on 8600 interviews, the total e-commerce market is estimated to be 178 billion euro in eight selected European countries; whereof the UK 47.6 billion euro, Spain 19.7 billion euro, Germany 55.7 billion euro, France 31.8 billion euro, Sweden 7.0 billion euro, Norway 6.2 billion euro, Finland 4.1 billion euro and Denmark 5.5 billion euro.

This means that the French market alone is nearly 40% larger than the combined markets in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. The potential for further growth across Europe is large as the average consumer completes only slightly more than one online purchase per month. Furthermore, e-commerce is still just a fraction of total household consumption.

For further information, please contact:
Eric Wallin, CEO, DIBS, tel. +46 8-527 525 03 or +46 703 29 77 74 or eric.wallin@dibs.se
